Ginetta G50 Cup

The single-make Ginetta G50 Cup is a true introduction to real GT racing. Using identical 300bhp Ginetta G50 cars, the G50 Cup provides high-speed action at a fraction of the cost of comparative race series.

The Championship supports the British Touring Car Championship placing it on the biggest stage possible in the UK. Large crowds provide an electric atmosphere and live TV coverage on ITV4 with a highlights programme is part and parcel of the media support.

Governed by rules and regulations including sealed engines, gearboxes and differentials, major component cannot be modified on the car. This prevents expensive research and development; ensuring all cars are identical to provide close, thrilling racing between evenly-matched drivers.

Over a typical weekend, there are 2 free practice sessions prior to qualifying and 3 races. A 20-minute qualifying session determines grid positions for the weekend’s three 20-minute races. A driver’s fastest lap in this time is taken into account for race one’s grid and the results of this race determine the starting positions for race two. Race three incorporates a reversed grid for the top 10 drivers, which provides plenty of overtaking action.
